April is an unpredictable weather month, but it’s never too early to prepare for the warm weather months. Throughout April, the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Branch-AFHSB will be hosting a Facebook Q & A and Twitter chat on April 20th, 12-1pm EST, to help service members and the public beat the heat before it beats them. Every year heat-related injuries expose people to significant health threats because of the combination of scorching temperatures, physical activity, fluid loss and heat fatigue. Yes, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and other heat-related illnesses are  all serious health threats. Join us and AFHSB to spread awareness about heat injury prevention by participating in the highly interactive chats including trivia games, video coverage and animated infographs. All you have to do is follow AFHSB on Twitter and Facebook to take part in all the awesome activities.

On Wednesday, April 20th from 12-1 p.m. EST, AFHSB will publish answers to the Facebook Q&A and host a live ‪#‎heatinjury‬ awareness chat on Twitter that provides valuable ‪#‎heatsafety‬ tips.

To take part in the Facebook Q&A, submit questions by end of day Wednesday April 13th to AFHSB’s Facebook inbox or leave comments using the hashtag ‪#‎BeatTheHeat‬. To join the Twitter Chat, follow and reply to them via @AFHSBPAGE and hashtag your tweets with #BeatTheHeat. Spread the word and save the date to join the conversation today. We want to know all the ways you know how to beat the heat.
