La Vigilia 2014: Christmas Eve rituals

It’s Christmas Eve. Tonight we are having our La Vigilia. For readers not familiar with Christmas, Christians celebrate Christmas Eve by having a meal of fish and other seafood. No milk or meat is allowed in the meal. I’m serving salmon with kale patties and pasta tonight.

I look forward to Christmas dinner with family. JB bought us spicy wine. So excited! We are currently having our Christmas Eve coffee together.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! God bless you and your family!

My secret Santa is awesome!

So the beautiful and fabulous Laura F. Is my secret Santa and I absolutely love my gift because I know I will use it in all types of ways to cook meats , soups and make delicious bake goods!

I can never have too many crock pots or kitchen appliances. It also helps me control taking away things my parents don’t use at home. Haha

Moving during the holidays isn’t so bad at all. I’m winning lol.

I really like this crock pot because it’s an energy saving device, dish washer safe and doesn’t take up too much counter space.

The first thing I’m slow cooking in my new crock pot are chicken thighs. I’ll let you know how it turns out. I’m using my new oven mitts too.

I hope my gift recipient likes her gift. I know she recently moved into her new apartment. So I thought I give her something for entertaining house guests.

I’m really big on party hosting.

Below is my gift wrapping.

It’s a skill I picked up as a candy shop girl. Trust me, before working at Eddie’s Gourmet Market I was horrible at gift wrapping.

Fish for a man and you feed him a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

My prolific dream about Oprah and the Ghettos of America

I had the weirdest dream about Oprah ! People we’re complaining about her only restoring communities and creating better schools in Africa. Then I went that’s not true. Lol.

At some point in the dream, a group of people & I became either partners with Oprah or employees rebuilding and restoring urban Ghettos in America.

It was the most awarding experience I’ve ever felt for in a dream.

I got up from the dream when I said ” I feel like we are doing work for The Lord. It’s awesome.”

Now I want to go back to sleep to see more or better yet just make it happen.

Decorating a home on a budget part 1

As I prepare to move in my first place, it’s time to layout a potential interior design plan. I’m sketching a plan this weekend but I went shopping for essential today, including this great dinner set! It’s not only cute but also dish washer safe . It’s a set of 4. You can found the dinnerware on sale for $15 at Wal Mart. It’s originally priced at $26. Can’t beat it!

God’s time

Today when I opened my eyes, I felt like I had to testify. I stopped running on my time & found myself running on God’s time. It’s been a year of ups and downs. I asked God why some things weren’t working out in my eyes but God had other plans for me. What other plans? It seems God has far better plans beyond my wildest imagination. God introduced me to new family members that show nothing but love & support( to add to my existing, loving family).
God got me away from a bum & showed me a real man. God removed me away from people up to no good.Got on my knees & prayed, God made a way & found my first place. What’s weird about it is that it’s down the street from my dream home. The home I want to raise my children in. What I’ve learned this year is to get on my knees & pray, not just when I need or want something but praise and give thanks to the Lord everyday. God’s listening. God has a plan and even through the bad times there’s a bigger plan with blessings concealed throughout.

The Blue Print: Your new home

I don’t know my mission but I thank
God for always finding a way. The day I saw this place I wanted to live there as our first home away from home. It won’t be our home forever but it will be a start. We are determined to become home owners with the grace of God.

I feel like this move is sent from God. One day while we were searching for housing, dad saw a sign about luxury apartments. We decided to check it out.

It’s a beautiful neighborhood and there’s so much space. I look forward to moving in and transforming it into a real home.

I was dreaming small and God showed me to dream big. With prayer God can make what seems impossible, possible.

God is a on time God. As I get older, I’m learning more and more about it. Here’s the blue print:

My Housewarming Registry

2.5 years after graduating college, I’m preparing to move into my first home away from home. I’m very excited and thank God for making a way. I’ve been praying about it for the past 2.5 years. At times I’ve been frustrated and teary eyed.

Life after college hasn’t been easy at all. It’s a great deal to adjust to but I’m thankful for God making a way to give me what I need rather than what I want.

If you would like to help me make my first place a home, please check out my House warming registry today. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

How your network creates your net worth

By Javone Jones

One of the keys to success is having a successful network because “Your Network Creates Your Net Worth.” I’m no expert in this field but I’ve acquired enough knowledge that enables me to share with you invaluable network tips to help you further your career or reassure you’re headed the right direction in your personal & professional development.

There are 3 steps you must follow to build a successful network. You can apply these same principles to your personal relationships:

Step 1: Networking

Networking is the process of finding out one’s profession and exchanging contact information. For example, when a man sees an attractive woman, he approaches her to exchange contact information such as phone numbers.

You can take this same dating approach and use it for professional networking at an event, function, or even out in the streets.

For me I have always networked with performers because I put together showcases and search for talent. My philosophy is to network with as many qualified people as possible because networking helps me find
who is serious about a showcase after the first meet or revealing of a business opportunity. The purpose of networking is to build and add to your network.
Step 2: Build Rapport

Building is the crucial aspect of creating a successful market. After you network with someone/ exchange information, you began to see what the person is really all about and you find out how the person can fit into your market.

Similar to the first date, you find out if the person is serious about business or a BSer. It’s up to you to decide if you have a solid connect or a conflict of interest.

Make sure you ask the right questions to develop a successful network. By asking questions, you drop those that lack the ability to follow through with business ventures.
Step 3: Establish A Business Relationship

Now after you go on a few dates, you should want to start establishing the relationship you want in the long haul.

Is this person a bf/gf relationship, friendship, fling, etc?

Follow this same strategy for building your network. As soon as you can, set up what kind of business relationship you want to have – consumer, client, business partner, or connect. This is very crucial for those who are networking with the opposite sex. I’ve networked with many attractive women and it is easy to find personal attraction, but the focus should always be on growing each of your businesses and personal relationships. When you don’t ask questions early on, it can sometimes hurt your business / relationship. Be on the same page.
Building a successful network isn’t easy by any means but it can guarantee you success. Follow these three steps and you will have a very successful market.

Thank you for being part of our network.
