Happy Anniversary To The Obamas!

Happy Anniversary to the Obamas! God bless you with many more! I’m truly a believer that real love exist because of couples like you working through thick & thin. Not letting third parties destroy your bond matters. Being good role models to your children matters. Still dating each other in marriage matters . & above all, having faith in God to make your bond stronger is a very powerful message. Thank you for being so inspirational. I know it’s not easy but you two do such a great job making it look easy. 🙂

The Baby Shower Of Fears & Blessings

I had the weirdest dream that I was pregnant & at my baby shower. But the theme seemed to be blessings & fears. It was like I’d be handed a blessing or a fear I guess I wanted or didn’t want for my child to inherit but I knew existed in life. I couldn’t make out many faces but when I was a kid I was afraid to put sweaters over my head. I think my kid ends up inheriting that fear. But then I recognized a face from the guests there that was my brother Anthony. He passed away but Anthony had a gift. To me it was the best gift. It wasn’t just because Anthony gave it to me but I knew my baby would need it. It was health rather than sickness. It’s one of my worst fears as a mom to have a sick child that dies. & I was just so happy I was crying but I recall saying Thank you so much. Anthony looked so happy to give his gift. It’s like he knew his gift would be a hit at my party. I got up from the dream with tears. The strange thing is that I don’t think I’m expecting a baby so I don’t know why I would have a dream like that.

We Can Have It All

I believe women, & this includes Black women, can have it all. ” You can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan & never let your mister forget he’s a man.” it’s not easy but it’s possible when we stop settling for less , learn to appreciate ourselves & discover what we want out of life. www.fromgirltogirl.com

He is a Father. Not A Baby Daddy.

This goes out to all my self proclaimed baby mamas. You are a mom. He is your child’s father. He needs to be a real dad even if he chooses not to make a life with you. A child is involved now & the first impressions you demonstrate of ” love” will affect that child for a lifetime. www.fromgirltogirl.com Stop the whole that’s my baby daddy. It’s foolish. That’s my child’s father is a respectful title.

Black Community Empowerment: Black Men Lead Our Community

I was talking to some Black women a day ago. I asked what do you think could make Black communities thrive. There was a majority consensus that we need Black men to lead our communities. We need men that help raise our children not just donate sperm or be emotionally distant fathers & spouses( I know it might have been done to us but you should always thrive to do better for your offspring). Yes, the community is bruised but not broken. Change for the better is possible. Greatness starts with courage and persistence. Although Black women can be excellent parents, we can’t do it alone anymore…not if we want to revive these communities. & above all Black women need to respect themselves. A man will walk all over you and disrespect you when you settle for less than love and respect. You do not have to be rude and abuse a man to get love and respect. You just have to appreciate him and also have the courage to respectfully tell him to step up. This is the wake up call and I’m not sugar coating. And trust me… Black men we do want to see , you,the Black men as the real, positive leaders of the Black community. We won’t know greatness until we know your worth & our worth. Stop putting each other down and start working together. Slavery and slave mentality is over.
