Northern Californian musician Mr. Grossman (Mark S Grossman) has announced the release of his new EP/mini-album entitled “Novella,” containing four new original tracks with a wide-ranging experimental approach. The collection also showcases the artist’s more vulnerable side, as he lyrically turns inward and channels his inner storyteller. “Novella” is best described as “stories about people dealing with the past love, needing courage, comfort, and closure.”

The eclectic Mr. Grossman turns from the political theme of his first two tracks to the personal. These four songs are about people dealing with love, past and future, looking for courage, comfort and closure. On the opening track Chana Matthews gives voice to a searing portrait of a woman burned by past relationships, daring herself to get back into the game. The second track, Escape, is like an offer of encouragement and solace to the first. The music is a mix of modern R&B and pop, with echoes of Sade, Smokey Robinson and John Legend. There are also classical Easter eggs (Duruflé and Brahms) for good measure.

Are your children spending too much screen time?

Chances are the kids are spending too much time on computers and tablets to learn and complete their homework. Technology is an integral part of our everyday lives, but it should also be in the lives of children. A new study finds that adults are giving their kids access to technology at increasingly younger ages.

Nearly 1 in 4 (24%) parents let kids play with tech when they’re 1-year-old or younger and despite the growing popularity of the “Wait Until 8th” pledge, 74% admit to exposing their children to technology by the time they turn five.

Almost 70% say their kid’s screen use has increased since 2020, and more than 1 in 10 believe screen time will continue to increase over the next year. But kids aren’t the only ones spending more time staring at screens — nearly 3 out of 5 (59%) adults recognize that their own screen time has increased since 2020, and 62% say their tech use influences their children (mostly in a negative way).

49% of parents believe their kids are addicted to technology
54% admit they themselves are addicted to looking at screens
22% estimate their kids spend 2 hours or less looking at screens
78% believe their child stares at a screen for 3 hours or longer daily

The majority of parents (65%) agree: they want their kids looking at screens for less than 2 hours a day.

One way is for doctors and nurses to wear shoes built for comfort that can also serve as a health monitor. Now there are syncing technology shoes that can:

Motivate a person to get out and walk
Monitor your heart rate and blood pressure
Responds to voice commands

The new line High Lights are an incredible innovation, and the perfect mix of comfort, useful tech, and affordability. The team at high beams crammed much of tech in these shoes with more still to come. Here is a list of what synching technology shoes can do:

Voice activated Head light system: One single light, is super powerful and discreet. Simply say “lights on”, and the lights come on and shine up to 50 feet with 180 degree radius.

Fall Notification: A series of built-in gyros also other sensors, trigger a fall alert if the shoes are at irregular positions for a time. A pressure sensor in the sole lets the shoes know if the wearer is in the shoes or not. The shoes vibrate and the lights start to blink to alert the wearer. If the shoe receives no response from the wearer, the shoes make a decision. Once the shoe determines a fall has occurred, it takes action.

Alert Messaging: Once a fall has been detected, the shoes send messages to the contacts that have been programmed into the app. included in the message is a location map.

Follow Up Phone Call: If the shoes receive no response from the wearer or the messaging, they start calling the people in the app. If there is still no change…alarm is issued and last text At this point the shoes trigger the phone alarm (via the app) to each person the phone app list, and last text is sent.

The Shoes Call 911: The shoes notify emergency services via phone call, (and text where available).

The new High Light series can monitor heart rate and blood pressure at regular intervals and send vitals via text to care givers or family. Each shoe has the technology already inside, all the user needs to do is select the options they wish to use, via the phone app. Our team is working on other technology, like drug monitoring, to prevent accidental overdose or to remind the wearer to take the medicine.
