New research has revealed that New Jersey takes the crown as the most romantic area in the USA.

New study reveals the top 10 most romantic U.S. states New Jersey takes the top spot for the most romantic state in the U.S Google Trends data was used to discover which areas had the highest interest in romance such as ‘flower delivery,’ and ‘how to find my perfect match ‘South Dakota’ is revealed to be the least romantic area in the USA.

Residents of this area are aiming to ‘steal some hearts’ with the most searches for romantic gestures compared with any other U.S. state. Sex experts at Delicto.com analyzed Google Trends to discover the level of interest in each U.S. area for various search terms including ‘how to be romantic,’,‘buy flowers near me,’ and ‘date night ideas’ to determine which ones had the highest interest overall.

Earning the title for the most romantic area in the U.S. is New Jersey, with an average combined search score of 767 romantic searches per 100,000 people. The area has a particularly high interest for ‘Romantic restaurants’, as well as a large number of searches for ‘date ideas’ and ‘florist near me.’

In second place is Massachusetts taking an average score of 709 ‘romantic’ searches per 100,000 people. The top three searched for terms in this state were ‘florist near me’, ‘romantic restaurants’ and ‘flower delivery.’

Taking home, a bronze medal, is Delaware with an average score of 707, with residents searching the most for ‘florist near me’ and ‘date ideas.’

New York comes in as the fourth most romantic state in the U.S. with a score of 695 romantic searches per 100,000 people. This state sees huge interest in ‘florist delivery’ and ‘romantic restaurants’. It also sees the most searches compared with any other state for ‘romantic trips.’

Residents of this area are either looking to impress that special someone or have some making-up to do.

Whilst Rhode Island is 45 times smaller than New York, it places just below them on the list of the most romantic states with an average score of 675 per 100,000 people – the area is most interested in flower deliveries, perhaps ordering to someone’s place of work or their home, a classic movie romantic gesture.

In sixth place is Virginia, with an average score of 668. Compared with all other US states, Virginia sees the third most Google searches for the term ‘how to find my perfect match’. Following behind Virginia is Maryland in seventh place with an average score of 645 per 100,000 people.

This state has residents most interested in new date ideas and purchasing flowers for that special someone.  With 641 romantic searches per 100,000 people, per month, is North Carolina, putting them in eighth place. This area already has people taking the plunge into a lifelong commitment with huge searches for ‘wedding venue near me.’

Coming in as the ninth most romantic state is Pennsylvania. Residents in this state are most interested in romantic restaurants and have the fourth highest of all states searches for ‘date ideas near me.’ This state’s total combined score is 634 searches per 100,000 people.

Last but not least is Florida taking the tenth spot and earning a score of 620. Florida has the highest monthly Google search volume for the term ‘romantic restaurants near me’ as well as the third highest search for ‘romantic date ideas and ‘romantic wedding vows.’

On the opposite end of the scale is South Dakota coming in as the least romantic state in the U.S. with a score of only 206 searches per 100,000 people.

A spokesperson from Delicto.com has commented:
“Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, with millions of people carrying out romantic gestures across the globe; however, this research highlights those U.S. states where residents are seeking to be romantic all year round.

On average, South Dakota sees 570 fewer romantic Google searches per 100,000 people, per month than New Jersey. These huge disparities across the country show that romance is not as much of a priority in some areas compared with others. Whilst romance is instilled into us with every romantic movie, it is important that these acts are not taken as your only interpretation of how a relationship works.

This research was carried out by delicto.com, an information website on exploring pleasure, product reviews, how-to guides and a wide selection of carefully curated sex toys and accessories.

Methodology

For each state in the U.S., Google Keywords search volume was retrieved for each of the following search terms: (list terms). These search volumes were then divided by the state population and multiplied by 100,000, giving search volume per 100,000 population. The top 5 search terms for each U.S. state, and top 5 states for each search term were then determined. The search volumes were then summed for each state, giving the total search interest, across all search terms, per 100,000 population. The states were then ordered according to this metric, revealing the most and least romantic states.

REVEALED: Lisbon is the most romantic capital city in Europe.

New research reveals Lisbon in Portugal, as the most romantic capital city in Europe, with some of the most romantic restaurants and hotels in the capital.

New research has revealed which capital cities in Europe are the most romantic as the run-up to Valentine’s Day approaches by analyzing Trip Advisor for the number of romantic restaurants and hotels in each city. The European-based yacht charter group Catamaran Charter Croatia looked at each capital city in Europe and analyzed Trip Advisor data on the number of romantic restaurants and hotels per million people in each city.

Monaco is the second most romantic capital city in Europe, with the highest number of restaurants per million people in the rankings. The third most romantic capital city in Europe is Paris, France.

Lisbon takes the top spot in the rankings as the most romantic capital city in Europe to visit on Valentine’s Day. Despite having the ninth smallest area, the city sweeps across 100 square kilometres and has a population of 545,923.

Monaco is Europe’s second most romantic capital city to visit on Valentine’s Day, with romantic restaurants and romantic hotels.

London, United Kingdom, has the highest number of romantic restaurants overall, and Rome, Italy, has the highest number of romantic hotels in the rankings.

Paris, France, has the highest number of Michelin-star restaurants, with 88 in total across the capital city, nine of which have been awarded three stars. Rome, Italy, has the highest number of romantic hotels, which are rated four plus stars, currently sitting at 650 across the city.

New study shows cheaters prioritize affair partners over spouses

No more sidelines for the Side Piece this Valentine’s Day

Ashley Madison, the world’s leading married dating website, used its unprecedented access to people who cheat to find out how members juggle the romantic responsibility of celebrating their marriage and their extramarital relationship on the special day. As it turns out, cheaters spend Valentine’s Day very differently between their two partners and prioritizing a spouse is no longer the status quo with almost a third (28%) of survey respondents opting to spend it with their affair partner.

Spouse vs. Mistress/Misteress

With extramarital partners, people often aren’t looking to replace their spouse, they’re looking to fulfill unmet needs. That said, it’s clear there is a shift happening and the affair partner is rising up the ranks as it pertains to partner priority.

“Typically, holidays and special occasions are reserved for the spouse and the affair partner is sidelined,” says Isabella Mise, Director of Communications at Ashley Madison. “But for Valentine’s Day this year, we’re seeing that affairs of the heart can lead to new traditions with a greater importance being placed on the extramarital relationship.”

Also interesting is that respondents spend about the same amount of money on their primary partner as they do for their affair partner. According to the survey, more than a third of respondents say they spend between $100-$250 on their affair partner, while the same amount (36%) say they spend $100-$250 when asked how much they spend on their spouse. This is surprising because you’d think the main romantic holiday of the year would be reserved for the primary partner, but this implies there is no real distinction between how they view the importance of each relationship.

Cheaters spend the same amount on their spouse and affair partner, but spend the money in different ways.

When asked, 71% of respondents say they celebrate Valentine’s Day with their affair partner by having sex, whereas 73% spend Valentine’s Day with their spouse by having dinner. Cheaters are likely spending their money on their spouse during dinner while spending the same amount on things like a hotel room for the affair partner.

“Between how they spend their money and how they spend their time, the members surveyed are demonstrating that there is an increased investment being made with affair partners,” says Mise. “It will be interesting to see if this shift continues.”
