Backesto Park neighborhood and post-rock by Wade Williamson
Wade Williamson brings to ‘Backesto Park’ in electronic post-rock album.

Are looking for some new electronic, downtempo, post-rock music to add to your playlist? Wade Williamson has a potent record called ‘Backesto Park’, a loving tribute to his neighborhood and fans really get a show of Williamson’s prodigious artistic talents at their finest. He is a music artist who has interesting musical ideas, allowing fans to look into the layers of his artistry and falling in love with his craft.

The song ‘Backesto Park’ has a peaceful feel to it, a song where you can get lost in your thoughts and feel less stress after a long day of work. There’s something beautiful about the noise and each listener can give his or her own purpose to the sound. If you want to compare Williamson to Tyco, El Ten Eleven, The Durutti Column, RATATAT, and Lusine. Here are some little fun facts about the ‘Backesto Park’ album:

  1. The music was recently used in the opening credits for the Cameron Crowe film Aloha.
  2. The Joss Whedon’s television show Dollhouse played some of the songs from the album.
  3. ‘Backesto Park’ appeared in a variety of independent film and multimedia art.
  4. The albums a personal studio work by Williamson and he accounts for all instruments and productions.
  5. Williamson enjoys playing the guitar and keyboards.

The ‘Backesto Park is his fifth album in the past decade and goes perfect with the vibes of his San Jose neighborhood as it is wonderfully active, eclectic and bizarre . If you’ve never been to Sane Jose, the neighborhood is very diverse with its Japantown, longstanding Italian families, Vietnamese tennis prodigies and Mexican pride. To put it short, the pa brings people together, buzzing with liveliness. The album just gravitates fans to a spicy melodic electronica, post-rock universe. Music fans can enjoy delayed guitars along electronic and rhythmically evolving song structures. It is a spiritualized masterpiece, guarantee to resonate with music lovers for years to come. It’s meditative and Williams enjoys listening to music for studying and coding as his day-job is information security, where he spends plenty of time doing malware analysis and collaborating with software developers. He doesn’t like to get into a music hook quickly. Instead, he likes to take his time building up the music vibes in song tracks like ‘ Safe Return from the Howling Void’ where the elements of the song hover around one another and never really coalesce until about 2/3s of the way through the song, but the build up makes the song even more beautiful. There is something unique about hearing sounds from the real-world in music. Just listen to ‘Walking Home and Aiming for Light’ which includes a recording of a walk in the dark while camping. Williamson calls this type of art natural recording, filled with the sounds of guitars, analog synths, his wife sewing a dress and his cat. Listen the full album here:

One of our favorite tracks from the album is ‘Sex on the Side’, a relatable track for millennial rock music lovers about relationships we don’t want but settle for. We really dig how Will Mora sings, composes and plays various instruments throughout the album. When Will Mora isn’t working on his own projects he records with his band The Morakestra. He created Add Agency after he saw the film ‘The Rocker’ where Emma Stone is the bassist in a factional band, A.D.D. To pay homage to Emma Stone he names a track after her and composes a full length album right in his home studio. If you enjoy free-spirited sessions with exciting musical characters and colors, you’ll enjoy this one man band with a sonic delight. Listen to ‘Gemstone Radar’ today. Here is the track-listing below:

  1. Bootypop
  2. Sex On The Side

New music: Passion and more by Nick De La Hoyde

Nick De La Hoyde introduces us to Passion.
Nick De LA Hoyde brings us into his world with new album Passion.

We were listening to the radio this week and came across an artists by the name of Nick de la Hoyde. The twenty-something music artist has a new EP out called Passion and the album is like nothing we’ve ever heard. Nick de la Hoyde is a singer, songwriter and rapper from Sydney, Australia and can give any New York or LA rap artist a run for his or her money with his creative poetry, and blend of hip-hop, pop, soul and R&B influence. Did we mention he is also an MC and has no problem shying away from wearing his heart and soul on his sleeve. On the Passion album you will hear spoken word which defies genres while appreciating introspective lyrics that read like personal journal entries. What we love about the Passion album are the songs expressing angst and triumphs we all experience in youth and dreams, with an energy of determination.

The deep lyrical content from Nick de la Hoyde goes incredibly well with the emotive bed of music. We love the family affair on the album as well with the production duo of his brothers Joseph and John de la Hoyde. We enjoy the unique meld of hip hop, pop and alternative rock on the Passion and hearing a feature with renowned Hip Hop producer Lemoyne ‘LA’ Alexander. A track we really like on the Passion album is the track ‘ By My Side’, which offers a light-hearted groove and a deeply moving hook from Nick. In addition to the album, Nick performs live online on channels like Younow.com and he is creating a live streaming series with his brothers Joseph & John to allow his fans around the world to tune into epic live shows with all the character of a full-blown show. Below is the album playlist, you can listen to tracks at Nick De La Hoyde on SoundCloud :

1. Aces

2. By My Side

3. The Longest Way

4. Where’s The Party At

5. Passion

6. No Consolation – Featuring Monks of Mellonwah

Nick De La Hoyde goes Hip Hop Pope in all the right ways.

New Music: Chloe Baker introduces us to the Bitter’s Kiss

Chloe Baker introduces us to the self-titled album Bitter's Kiss

It’s finally Fall and the time of the year when I search for new music to enjoy on my jogs through the leaves and the cool breeze. I came across an interesting New Jersey indie pop artist called Bitter’s Kiss. You may wonder why on Earth would I even consider listening to an artist titled Bitter’s Kiss, but Chloe Baker truly makes me think, even with her title Bitter’s Kiss she has a way of expressing herself and demonstrating her great talents. Baker is young and her thought-provoking music will surely take her far because every work from her is in-your-face raw as she explores the artist’s soul.

When listening to her music, you can feel the melancholy of suburban life and hardship people face mentally and emotionally in everyday life. In Chloe Baker’s Bitter’s Kiss project she shows us it’s okay to express our fragile humanity. Her songs are memorable and really touch listeners from the soul.

Listening to her music, it really gives room for self-reflection. Often at times one begins questioning what would the younger version of me ask my current self. Is this the life you dreamed about when you were young? It’s moving to even have the courage to address ones self about such questions. On the album Bitter’s Kiss, we go through a journey with Chloe Baker to answer the questions we fear to answer to ourselves, but she is confident in the hope for a better tomorrow and hopes asking those questions will help us all look in the mirror and ask ourselves before we ask of others. Important principles matter and it’s relevant with the times as Pope Francis visits the United States for the first time with a powerful message for the people to act now on creating a better tomorrow.

Watching “The Rope” music video, which is on the album Bitter’s Kiss, we were instantly glue to the screen as we see a woman in a white dress with long blondish, brown hair looking away from the camera. What is she doing? That’s the first question we have going into the music video. In fact, the white dress is beautiful with lovely detailing. As she turns her head to the camera, we see a perfectly made up face, reminds us of a porcelain doll. But it’s not the face which has us in awe by the end of the video. It’s the hard questions like ‘Are you thankful for the pain?’ How many of us thank God for the pain? How many of us question the soul behind the face? Questioning faith and religion is scary for most of us. Sometimes it does hurt to smile. Chloe Baker puts it all out there for us to think upon in the new video “The Rope” and it makes us love the artists even more. There is something refreshing about a young woman saying meaningful, powerful statements from the soul. Don’t take our word for it, watch her new video “The Rope” ( radio mix) below:

Cannot see the video? You can stream the song The Rope on Soundcloud.

The Rope is Baker’s way of examining her feelings about the suicide of a distant cousin from a very religious background and her thoughts on the importance of staying true to one’s identity, finding something personally significant about one’s life to make life feel meaningful. Another memorable track from the album is the song “Too Far Too Fast”. It’s a reaction to watching her older sister go off to college and reflecting on how quickly time passes. When people can look beyond the sadness of the world, it’s truly moving and Baker brings us there. She gives us hope.

You can have a listen to the entire “Bitter’s Kiss” album here. If you love Regina Spektor, Sixpence, None the Richer, Nellie McKay, Sarah McLaghlan, or Carole King, you’ll enjoy this album. To learn more about Chloe Baker, follow Bitter’s Kiss on Facebook and visit the website.

Walk of no shame: Amber Rose rewrites the rules for women sexuality

We want to take the time to applaud feminist and women empowerment advocate Amber Rose (@DaRealAmberRose ) for standing up for universal respect of women when it comes to sexuality.

She recently produced a video with the website Funny of Die to rewrite the rules of the morning after walk, which is known as an act of shame for women who explore their sexuality with no strings attached. It often happens on college campuses and women are often targets of sexual harassment and cyber bullying for being sexually active and exploring their options when it comes to dating.

With the video the walk of shame transforms to the walk of no shame as Amber Rose portrays a woman coming home from a night of sex beaming and not one bit of ashamed about it.

Not too many women have the courage to create such a video or even proudly come from a night of sex. Here is what the world looks like when women have the freedom to enjoy sex without shame:

Walk Of No Shame with Amber RoseAmber Rose rewrites the rules of the morning-after walk and shows what it looks like when a woman takes pride in her stride.

Posted by Funny Or Die on Tuesday, September 15, 2015

If you enjoyed the No walk of shame video, please support Amber Rose’ Slut Walk, this event is hosted by The Amber Rose Foundation, a non-profit organization she started to uplift, empower and give women a voice across the globe. Any funds received from donations will go toward HIV testing, sexual awareness booths, food vendors, merchandise vendors and a host of other services which help women empower themselves through proactive health and education wellness.

Everyday women experience slut shaming, double standards, sexual assault and even rape simply because they seem a certain way or carry themselves a certain way. Women, no matter their nature of character deserve respect of body and mind.

Feel free to email Amber Rose and her team at slutwalk@saxproductions.com for more specifics on how you can give to Slut Walk and The Amber Rose Foundation.
