[ New Survey] : Is there enough Parental Leave for Americans?

How many days does the average American have time to adjust to having a baby before they must return to work? This report on the state of paid and unpaid parental leave in the U.S. reveals the average American takes two weeks or 18 days of paid parental leave.
Women who had babies during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic ( 2020) got lucky. So far it has been 3+ years of parental benefit, including additional tax return benefits.
3 in 4 Americans – parents or not – don’t feel like they have enough parental leave.

Before the coronavirus pandemic…
– 31% of women felt like they lost out on promotions and/or raises for taking leave
– 41% of women worried about losing their jobs
– 1 in 10 mothers found their coworkers not respectful of their pumping needs.

Remember:
42% of Americans receive no paid leave whatsoever, it seems the choice between a career and kids is still relevant for nearly half of working women today.
