Corn Tortillas from Vista Hermosa are crafted in small batches using 100% traditional nixtamal process. Whole-kernel organic corn is slowly cooked in water and slaked lime. This thousand year old process of Nixtamalization used by the Aztec and Mayans releases valuable nutrients otherwise unavailable. The corn is then ground in a “molino” where the corn is passed between with hand-carved volcanic stones to produce a masa or dough ready to be pressed and cut into golden tortilla-sized discs. They are USDA certified organic and made with four simple ingredients: white corn, water, kosher salt, and lime.

Flour Tortillas, freshly baked on a comal (griddle) using traditional Sonoran process and perfect for breakfast tacos and burritos. Made with simple ingredients like wheat flour, cassava, avocado oil, kosher salt, and water.

Totopos, inspired by avoiding tortilla waste, are tortilla chips that are made by cutting and carefully frying real table tortillas in sunflower oil and then dusted with salt and chile powder to create a crunchy corn snack.

Vista Hermosa product line added two new flavors, Blue Corn with a Flash of Lime and Spicy Red Corn. For the Blue & Red Totopos, spices are mixed into the masa before the tortillas are baked, then cut and fried into tortilla chips.

Vista Hermosa Food Review

The Vista Hermosa brand bakes freshly made tortillas and totopos. Here at Fromgirltogirl.com , we tried the totopos corn tortilla chips, the corn tortillas and flour tortillas.

Totopos Corn Tortilla Chips

The Totopos Corn Tortilla Chips are known as the world’s best chips for nachos, they are made from 100% organic corn tortillas to ensure authentic mexican corn tortilla chips.

Totopos are freshly baked tortillas that have a short lifespan, after some time, because the totopos become dry and tough. In order not to waste the tortilla chips, the Maya people and those throughout Mexico, allow the tortillas to dry, then fry them to make a delicious, crunchy corn snack. Vista Hermosa is known for making totopos the same way as you would find in the markets of Mexico. The snack is must eat for fans of fresh, organic corn tortillas. The totopos are never made from cornmeal or corn flour.

Corn Tortillas

The Vista Hermosa corn tortillas are USDA certified organic and made using a traditional nixtamalization process. The tortillas are great for taco tuesdays, gluten free, and only 110 calories per serving. The ingredients include: organic corn, water, hydrated lime, and kosher salt.

I made fish tacos using tilapia. You can really taste the corn flavor in these organic tortillas. I also like the texture of these organic corn tortillas, they are not too soft or hard, and taste great hot or room temperature.

Flour Tortillas

These tortillas are freshly baked, non-GMO, and made with healthy avocado oil. The non-gmo flour tortillas are 100% vegan. The ingredients include: Non-GMO wheat flour, non-gmo cassava, avocado oil, kosher salt, and water. The flour tortillas are only 180 calories per serving.

I really enjoy these flour tortillas. Perfect texture that goes with any taco meat choice. I prefer tortillas warm or grilled. This flour tortilla goes well with riesling or any quality white wine.
