Pandemic Weight Gain & Beauty Insecurities – An American Story

Have you gained weight during the COVID-19 pandemic? How about your significant other? The infamous “Quarantine 15,” continues to be a heavy discussion. While others are more concerned about pandemic stress accelerating aging.

Now, the data is in. 57% say they’re less attracted to their partner now than they were before.

  • 2 in 3 say their partner looks worse than they did before the pandemic started.
  • 79% say their partner needs to lose some weight (22 pounds on average).
  • 55% have been embarrassed by their partner’s appearance in social situations.

Beyond just weight gain or aging, Americans are noticing their partners are slacking when it comes to appearance, including excessive casual dress and spending less time on hygiene (46% of survey respondents confirmed), impacting sex lives – 56% say they are having less sex because of their partner is neglecting self-care.
