A new U.S. Foods Study reveals takeout as America’s go-to way of dining and more popular than sit-down restaurants.

On average, Americans dine out 3 times a month, while ordering delivery 4.5 times per month. The majority of Americans are willing to wait 30 minutes or more for a takeout order.

Why do Americans prefer ordering takeout?

They love the joy of eating at home, the convenience of enjoying meals while watching TV or movies, and the escape from cooking and dressing up.

When it comes to dining at restaurants, Americans are spending about $166 per month per person, with men spending 19% more than women.

Additionally, the study finds that 76% of consumers prefer traditional paper menus over QR codes, showcasing a strong attachment to the physical experience rather than embracing technological advancements.
