The holiday season is rapidly approaching. As we gear up for Thanksgiving and the winter holidays, I would like to keep in mind that there are families in need.

Right now I work in the healthcare industry and one of the reasons I work in this industry is to give back. This holiday season I am teaming up with United Way, a community organization dedicated to improving lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good.

United Way brings nearly 1,800 communities together in more than 40 countries and territories to strengthen the building blocks of education, income and health that support a good life for people and families alike.

I am asking Fromgirltogirl readers to help me raise funding for family in need by the end of the year. Give. Advocate. Volunteer. By giving of ourselves we can help improve the conditions in which members of our community live.
