39% of Americans Decorate for Halloween This Week, New Study Says

It’s the first week of October,  a new study found 39% of Americans will start decorating for Halloween this week.Whether it’s the classic pumpkins on the porch or a full-house display, Americans love to get in the Halloween spirit with 71% saying they’re planning on decorating for Halloween this year. 
Here are some cool Halloween facts:

– According to Google search trends, the Spookiest cities are Las Vegas, Denver, Baltimore, Portland, Seattle.
– The most popular types of Halloween decorations are carved pumpkins, skeletons, cauldrons, tombstones, and witches. Americans spend 3 hours on average decorating for Halloween.
Average amount spent yearly on Halloween decor: $61.

Due to inflation, nearly 50% of Americans say they plan to spend less on decorations and candy and more than half of Americans will walk or drive around to check out everyone’s Halloween displays.
