A new report on dental procrastination reveals 51% of Americans are self-conscious about their teeth, with a full 3 in 5 still intentionally putting off the dentist.

A brilliant smile can make a big difference when it comes to confidence and feeling comfortable in photos, but many Americans are neglecting their oral hygiene and it is having a major impact on their teeth. 

Nearly 3 in 5 Americans say the dentist is too expensive and 44% say they have dental anxiety. Other report highlights include: 

  • The top cosmetic woe is tooth color
  • 1 in 4 would consider a tooth aligner
  • 1 in 3 people haven’t seen a dentist since March 2020
