About Borden Melts

Launched in 2022, Borden Melts are made by dairy-aisle favorite, Borden Cheese. These new cheese slices are made with real cream in every slice for a smooth, gooey, creamy, and deliciously perfect melt every time. Borden Melts are individually wrapped cheese slices ready to use in a variety of ways. At Fromgirltogirl, we use Borden Melts for quick breakfast and lunch meals, and even eat the cheese as a snack in itself. It doesn’t have a yucky artificial taste to it that is common with american cheese or heavily processed cheese. Borden Melts are available in four craveable varieties including Extra Sharp Cheddar; Pepper Jack (it is spicy); Swiss; and Borden Melts best selling American Cheese.

Fromgirltogirl recommends moms, dads, and caregivers create a meal in minutes with just one pack of cheese for back-school-season and use #EatWellWithBree to share. Borden Melts is perfect for lunchbox sandwiches, weeknight grilled cheese, quesadillas, burgers, paninis, and more.

The cheese can last in the fridge for longer than many sandwich ingredients while packing a punch of protein and calcium. At 60 calories, 4g of protein per slice, 30% calcium per serving, Borden Melts are available in 16-slice packages in select stores – check out the store locator here.

  • 1 pound ground beef, 20% fat, formed into 4 patties
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices Borden® Extra Sharp Cheddar Melts

  1. Heat a grill to high heat.  Brush the onion slices with olive oil and grill for 5 to 7 minutes on each side or until the onion has begun to caramelize.
  2. Sprinkle the hamburger patties with salt and pepper and add the patties to the grill.    Cook for 3 to 5 minutes on each side, until cooked through. Remove from heat and top each patty with one slice of Cheddar Melts.
  3. Place the buns, cut side down on the grill for 1 minute or until toasted.
  4. Spread the insides of the buns with the Sriracha mayonnaise. Layer lettuce on the bun bottoms, top with a slice of tomato, 1 burger, 2 slices of bacon, a second burger and ½ of the onions and the top of the bun and enjoy.
