Americans want to play more Video Games based on Top Movies, TV shows, and Books

Welcome to Fall. This is a great time for Americans to enjoy playing video games and the cinematic experiences with friends and family.

A new study reveals insights on the growing interest and engagement among gamers. The study, conducted by Solitaired, found over half (51%) of gamers say they’d play video games even more if they were based on popular movies, TV shows, or books!

Top Movies Americans Want to See as Video Games

Gamers were asked to vote on their favorite movies in 2023 they would play as video games and, unsurprisingly, many were drawn to video game-inspired films. On average, gamers have spent $146 on video games in 2023.

Take a look at the full report to see your state’s favorite video game.

Methodology

To determine the most popular video game by state, Solitaired analyzed the Google search volume of 1,752 terms related to video game titles such as “Super Mario Kart”, “Call of Duty,” and “FIFA Online” over the period of April 2020 to April 2023.

In June 2023, Solitaired surveyed 1,006 self-identified gamers who play handheld console games, esports, and virtual reality games. Respondents ranged in age from 18 to 60 with an average age of 35. 50% were men, 48% were women, and 2% were non-binary.

2023 Report: States that Vaccinate the Most ( key metrics)

Did you know vaccines prevent 4 to 5 million deaths worldwide per year, according to the World Health Organization (WHO)?

Personal-finance website WalletHub released its report 2023’s States that Vaccinate the Most, which provides information about the share of vaccinated children to share of people without health insurance to the flu vaccination rate among adults.

In order to find out which states vaccinate most, WalletHub analyzed the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 16 key metrics.

States that Vaccinate Most

  1. Massachusetts
  2. Rhode Island
  3. Iowa
  4. Vermont
  5. Connecticut

States that Vaccinate Least

  1. West Virginia
  2. Alabama
  3. Nevada
  4. Texas
  5. Oklahoma

Massachusetts has the highest influenza vaccination coverage for children, 77.70 percent, which 2.1 times higher than in Wyoming, the state with the lowest at 37.80 percent.

Minnesota has the highest share of adults with the tetanus vaccination, 82.60 percent, which is 1.5 times higher than in New Jersey, the state with the lowest at 53.50 percent.

South Dakota has the highest share of adults aged 60 and older with the zoster vaccination, 55.10 percent, which is 2.1 times higher than in Mississippi, the state with the lowest at 26.00 percent.

“Media can provide information about outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases and provide visuals and information about what these diseases are. With many vaccines being on the market and used for decades, the incidence of the target diseases has decreased rapidly.”

Abram L. Wagner, Ph.D., MPH – Assistant Professor, University of Michigan

Minnesota has the highest share of children 19 to 35 months old living in poverty with the combined 7-vaccine series, 84.30 percent, which is 1.7 times higher than in California, the state with the lowest at 50.70 percent.

Takeout is the Go-To Way of Dining for Americans in 2023

[ Infographic ]: Dine out? Or order in?

Learn about the top 5 reasons people prefer ordering takeout or delivery.

A new U.S. Foods Study reveals takeout as America’s go-to way of dining and more popular than sit-down restaurants.

On average, Americans dine out 3 times a month, while ordering delivery 4.5 times per month. The majority of Americans are willing to wait 30 minutes or more for a takeout order.

Why do Americans prefer ordering takeout?

They love the joy of eating at home, the convenience of enjoying meals while watching TV or movies, and the escape from cooking and dressing up.

When it comes to dining at restaurants, Americans are spending about $166 per month per person, with men spending 19% more than women.

[ Infographic ]: Top 5 reasons people prefer going out to eat.

Additionally, the study finds that 76% of consumers prefer traditional paper menus over QR codes, showcasing a strong attachment to the physical experience rather than embracing technological advancements.
